January 2 - Most of the plywood is on now and the roof framing is about to begin.
January 2 - The roof on this side of the house will be vaulted so it will be a bit more difficult than the other side.

January 5 - The roof over the right side is being built now.
January 5 - The left side roof is built and ready for subfacia.
January 5 - The ridge beams over the vaulted area are LVL's (laminated veneer lumber) so that the ridge will support the roof.
January 5 - The rest of the rafters are laid out and ready to be installed.
January 6 - The right side roof framing is finished now except for the subfacia.
January 6 - The center roof section was started today and good progress was made.
January 6 - The center section is framed in on the front side and the low front roof framing is started.
January 7 - The rear gable is framed up and ready for plywood.

January 7 - The roof is looking really good! There is a bit more to frame around the chimney but that will have to wait on the mason.
January 7 - Most of the roof framing is done now and the barge rafters are in place.

January 8 - The front roof is all done now. It will be covered with Ice & Water seal soon.

January 8 - Both gables now have all of their plywood sheathing and the windows have been cut out.
January 8 - The last few sheets of roof sheathing are being installed. The chimney hole will have to be cut out per the mason.
January 9 - This is looking up at the center section of roofing. There is a wind beam at each pair of rafters.
January 9 - The roof framing looks good. The right vaulted roof has a supporting ridge made of a 3.5in x 16in beam.
January 9 - Another view of the roof from the bottom. The rafters were upsized and placed at 24in o.c. then covered with 3/4in plywood.
January 9 - Garage wall framing started today.
January 9 - Roof sheathing is finished on the right side of the house.
January 9 - All of the plywood is finished on the back and the windows are cut out.
January 9 - This is a view up into the sun porch ceiling. The vaulted area will have a high flat ceiling soon.
January 9 - The inside gable above the front door is now framed in.
January 12 - Most of the house roof is now covered in Ice & Water shield membrane. Inside framing is being done today due to rain.
January 13 - The garage walls were framed today in spite of the constant light drizzle. We are waiting on floor trusses now in order to proceed.
January 14 - The firebox for the fireplace and the first few offset were installed today.
January 14 - Because the fireplace is inside of the house and the chimney will be on the outside there are offsets to slant the flue over where it needs to be.
January 14 - The masons have their scaffold set up for the chimney. The guys consolidated the lumber and cleaned the yard today.
January 14 - This is the ceiling of the laundry room. On top of this lower ceiling will be the HVAC unit.
January 15 - The job sign is finally finished!
January 15 - The masons are working inside today on the firebricks inside the firebox.
January 15 - These blocks have been stacked up and filled with concrete to support the offset chimney.
January 15 - The floor trusses are finished now and ready for subflooring.
January 16 - Plywood is being installed on the second floor of the garage.
January 16 - The far corner here is where the stairs will come up.
January 19 - The garage roof framing began today.
January 19 - Even though this is a gable roof it is still challenging to build.
January 20 - The garage is coming along nicely even though we only have a skeleton crew now.
January 20 - The gable walls are framed up now.
January 20 - Good progress was made on the chimney today. These are the Isokern liner and they will be wrapped in brick.
January 21 - We had a full crew again today and we made good progress on the garage.
January 21 - Most of the wall sheathing is in place and the back shed roof is built.
January 21 - The framers are working to cover the roof in anticipation of the rain Friday. This side got wet right after sheathing and had to dry first.
January 21 - The brick around the chimney is coming along well. They are at the point where it starts to taper in to the flue.
January 21 - The firebox is finished now complete with the fresh air intake vent.
January 23 - On Thursday and Friday the roof got sheathed and covered before the rain started again. Work stopped at noon Friday due to rain.
January 26 - The exterior trim guys started today and finished the fascia on the house. We are now ready for the roof to start.
January 26 - Most of the roof on the garage was finished today and the fascia was started too.
January 26 - Just a bit more wall plywood to put on and the exterior framing will be complete.
January 26 - The chimney was bricked to the top today. The Bishop's arch chimney cap will be built in the next few days.
January 26 - Now that the chimney is up the cricket can be built behind it and the waterproofing finished on the roof.

January 27 - The garage roof and wall sheathing is finished now. The trim guys even got the fascia on today.
January 27 - There is still some work to do on the inside but the outside is ready to cover as soon as we pass inspection.
January 28 - The stairs and landing are now built. A door will be added for access under the stairs.
January 28 - Here is an upstairs view from the stairs landing. There are a few more walls and some ceiling to install up here still.
January 30 - The siding materials have arrived and will be installed starting next week.
January 30 - The masons began digging out for the brick veneer today.
January 30 - The garage is looking good and the framing is nearly complete now. The roof was covered today.
