October 2 - The nearly finished garage blends in nicely with the main house. The garage doors will be painted green to match the other doors.
October 2 - The drive was enlarged to accommodate the carport.
October 2 - Each auto bay door and the walk door have sconce lights over them for evening lighting.
October 2 - Controls for the garage doors are mounted just inside the walk door. The oil rubbed bronze hardware is on the door.
October 2 - The back wall has adjustable shelves. Currently, the shelf boards are not fastened to the supports. Once the shelves are located in the proper position, the shelves will be attached. The shelves can be adjusted from (approximately) 5 feet to 9 feet above the floor.
October 2 - The dog door is in place. Early next week, the floor will be scrubbed. It has drywall spackling on it. The spackling is water soluble and will clean up. The dog's fence will be installed on Monday.
October 2 - The garage placement gives drivers a clear shot at either the carport or the garage auto bays.
October 2 - The garage doors are installed. Unfortunately, the counter balance spring (horizontal thick black spring on the rod above the door) was not the correct one. The correct one will be installed in a day or two.
October 2 - The dog door has a security panel to keep unwanted critters out.
October 2 - The sconce lights look nice over the auto bay doors.
October 2 - The outside of the dog's door opens into what will be a small fenced kennel.
October 2 - Several day ago, shelves were built in the storage room. They are 5 and 7 feet above the floor and three walls.
October 2 - The rear of the garage has a storage room. Currently the doors are green, but the color may change. The hardware is oil rubbed bronze. The light switch for the storage room is just to the right of the door. The dog door is also visible.
October 2 - The walk is finished. It has small gravel in the foreground. The walk in the background is coarse gravel. We are doing an experiment to see how badly the roof run off erodes the fine gravel.
October 6 - The dog kennel fence is installed inside the garage. The inside and outside kennels are connected by the dog door. The floor is wet because it has been washed.
October 6 - The outside kennel fence is in place. A gate will be installed on the right side.
October 10 - The garage matches the house well. The garage doors are painted. The back storage door needs to be stripped and repainted. That will be done the first of the week. After that, I believe we are about done.
