07 March 2023 - Foundation work has begun. Batter boards are built and the foot print of the buildings are marked.
07 March 2023 - A laser level is used to make sure the batter boards are all the same height.
07 March 2023 - Trenches for footers are being dug. Steel rebar is laid in the bottom of the trenches. It will be put on “chairs” to lift if off the bottom before concrete is poured.
07 March 2023 - A mini excavator is being used to dig the footers.
14 March 2023 - Steel rebar (reinforcing bar) has been placed in the footer trenches.
14 March 2023 - The footer steel is being readied for inspection and concrete.
14 March 2023 - If you look closely, you can see the rebar in the bottom of the footers is held up by concrete bricks allows the concrete in the footers to encase the rebar.
21 March 2023 - Footers are poured. Block work is proceeding.
21 March 2023 - Steel rebar that is embedded in the footers is in the block cores. The cores will be filled with concrete later.
21 March 2023 - These block foundation walls have not been finished yet. The footer is visible beneath the blocks in the center of the photo.
28 March 2023 - The top row of block is ledger block. The outside of the block serves as a form when the concrete slab is poured.
28 March 2023 - More blocks and sand (not in photo) have been delivered to the site.
28 March 2023 - The silver wires in the center of the photo are reinforcements that are laid between rows of blocks hence their shape. This reinforces the wall so that the blocks don't pull apart.
