July 3 - Block has been delivered and the guys are working on laying the garage.
July 3 - All but in front of the doors is laid. That part will be formed to create a slope at the doors.
July 7 - Friday was cleanup day and the whole site has been mowed and trimmed.
July 7 - The front left corner of the house is laid. There is still one more course on top which is the bond beam.
July 7 - Progress has been made on the front wall of the house. The front porch has not been laid yet.
July 8 - The front wall of the house and the front porch are now finished except for the bond beam course.
July 8 - A significant portion of the back wall of the house has been laid. They still have four courses to go to get to the top.
July 10 - As you can see we had a lot of rain over the weekend. The far back wall was laid up to the line today.
July 11 - Today is a bit drier than yesterday. The back left corner of the house is laid up to the line now.
July 25 - Guys are working to form and pack for the garage slab.
July 25 - The garage slab is formed and all of the dirt has been packed in it.
July 25 - The service yard is partially formed. It is above the existing grade but close to the eventual modified grade.
July 25 - Most of the blocks and piers are finished on the house. Just a few more to go.
July 26 - The garage slab has been treated for termites and is prepped for concrete.
July 26 - The last blocks on the breezeway have been laid. It will be formed and poured for the floor.
July 26 - The piers and the remainder of the blocks are all laid now. Dirt has been leveled for the 'rat' slab.
July 26 - Rebar has been placed inside the block walls. The top course is the bond mean that ties the house together.
July 28 - The first load of concrete is being poured in the garage slab.
July 28 - The first load of concrete is placed and leveled and they are waiting on the second truck to arrive.
July 28 - The second load of concrete is being poured in the garage.
July 28 - The walls are marked where the straps and anchor bolts will be placed and are ready to be poured.
July 28 - Plastic is being placed under the 'anti-rat' slab which will be poured under the house.
July 28 - The slab under the house is in the process of being poured. They are waiting for the next truck now.
July 28 - The slab is poured under the back porch. This area will be accessible and used as storage.
July 28 - The first load of lumber has arrived! This load will build the wall framing.
July 28 - The second load of lumber has arrived! This is the materials for the first floor system of the house.
July 28 - All of the lumber for the first floor of the house has arrived. We are ready to start framing on Monday!
July 28 - The last of the concrete has been poured in the crawlspace for the 'anti-rat' slab.
July 28 - Having concrete in the crawlspace will keep out critters and moisture as well as make it easier to maintain.
July 31 - The first floor walls of the garage are mostly framed. They will add plywood next.
July 31 - The sill plates are installed on the masonry and the rim joists have been started.
July 31 - Most of the first layer of rim joists have been installed. Another layer will be added around the perimeter.
