August 1 - A good bit of floor system is framed in. We received the subflooring today which is stacked in front of the house.
August 1 - Just a couple of sections are left to frame and then bridging will be added to reinforce the joists.
August 1 - Another load of lumber was delivered for the garage today. This is the plywood and floor beams.
August 2 - The framers finished the details of the floor framing and then installed the subflooring.
August 3 - After finishing the subflooring this morning the framers are erecting their first wall on the house.
August 3 - At the end of the day there were only three walls up. Early morning rain closed the roads to delivery trucks so they ran out of materials!
August 3 - With rains forecast for tomorrow we may not get more than these walls up this week.
August 3 - The plywood sheathing is started on the garage. They will leave the rest off until they go up with the next floor.
August 8 - Good progress was made on the first floor walls today.
August 8 - The tarp was installed to keep the sun off of the guys while they work.
August 8 - Several more bundles of lumber were delivered today.
August 9 - Most of the first floor walls are now installed.
August 9 - The nearest stack of lumber here are engineered beams. Some are 36 ft long!
August 9 - The high wall in the front is in the stairwell. The opening will be divided down the middle for two windows.
August 9 - The series of three beams here are what will hold the floor of the balcony above.
August 9 - Two more large beams are placed above the kitchen area.
August 9 - This is a view down the long hall from the master bedroom to the side door.
August 9 - The braces everywhere hold the walls straight until the floor is installed above.
August 10 - The first row of plywood sheathing is installed around the entire perimeter of the house.
August 10 - Now that the plywood is installed at the porches the porch framing can be installed.
August 11 - Floor trusses have arrived and we can now proceed to the next level of construction.
August 11 - The front porch floor is framed. Next we will install the posts and beams around the porch.
August 11 - The floor trusses are mostly installed on the garage. They still need some bracing and then the subflooring can be installed.
August 15 - The floor trusses for the second floor of the house are set and ready for subflooring.
August 15 - The garage trusses were finished up and the subflooring installed today.
August 15 - They were even able to install the short knee walls today. The rafters will rest on these walls.

August 16 - Plywood is installed to the tops of the knee walls on the garage.
August 16 - Now that the plywood is installed the rafters can be installed next.
August 16 - The 'wind beam' is installed in the wall of the stairwell. This is reinforcing against hurricane force winds.
August 16 - The plywood subflooring is installed on the second floor of the house.
August 17 - The rafters and front gable wall are framed on the high roof of the garage.

August 17 - Plywood will be installed on the walls and then subfacia on the roof and the garage will essentially be all framed.
August 18 - The front shed roof of the garage is framed and plywood sheathing installed.
August 18 - The high roof of the garage is all framed and ready for plywood.
August 18 - A well framed roof is a beautiful thing!
August 23 - The second story exterior walls and knee walls are framed and ready for the roof.
August 23 - The last large load of framing lumber has arrived. This is all for the second floor ceiling and roof.
August 23 - In the background, you can see a large beam which is in the ceiling of the second floor.
August 23 - This beam is 7in x 24in x 32ft and carries the load of the ceiling and roof over the great room.
August 24 - A good portion of the front of the house is sheathed now in preparation for the roof framing.
August 24 - One side of the garage roof has been sheathed with the other side soon to follow.
August 24 - The left and right side roof framing has started.
August 25 - The center roof ridge beam is set along with a few rafters to hold it in place.
August 25 - The garage roof is sheathed and has its waterproof covering installed.
August 25 - The high roof construction will go a little slower since there isn't a floor underneath to work from.
August 28 - Good progress has been made on the high roof of the house. Still some fill-in left to do.
August 29 - The dormer rafters are now in place.
August 29 - The high gable is built on the left side of the center section.
August 29 - The stair landing is built in preparation for construction of the stairs.
