01 November 2022 - The fill dirt has been leveled and the foundations prepped for concrete.
01 November 2022 - The rebar in the walls has been bent so it ties into the slab. Plastic covers the fill dirt. White drain pipes are in place.
01 November 2022 - The guest wing of the main house is ready for concrete.
01 November 2022 - The porches will be poured at a later date. They are tabby with a brick border.
01 November 2022 - Here you can see some places where the fill dirt has been removed. The concrete will be much thicker in these locations. Typically they are load bearing locations. Note the recesses also have rebar in them.
01 November 2022 - The ledger blocks (blocks with one wall cut away) will be the form for the concrete slab. The rebar (that extends to the footers) will be encased in the slab making one very solid structure.
01 November 2022 - The shop floor has been prepped for the concrete pour.
09 November 2022 - Concrete pouring is underway. A large boom pump is being used to place the concrete in the house.
09 November 2022 - Guys are hard at work pouring the concrete. They are already working on their second truck in this photo.
09 November 2022 - The concrete is being poured and screeded level. In the background you can see a guy smoothing it with a bull float.
14 November 2022 - Concrete slabs have been poured. This is the guest house. The porches (on the left side) will be tabby concrete with a brick border.
14 November 2022 - This is the guest wing of the main house. Notice the walkway to the main house is not poured yet. It will be tabby with a brick border also.
14 November 2022 - The main house slab is poured and has set. On the left, you can see the front porch and on the right, the walkway to the guest wing.
14 November 2022 - A mason is laying the brick border on the main house front porch. Once the brick is laid, mortar will be placed between the bricks. When the border is complete and grouted, the slab will be poured.
14 November 2022 - The shop slab has been poured. Notice there is no plumbing in the shop (no pipes protruding from the slab).
23 November 2022 - Framing has begun. This is the guest house.
23 November 2022 - Framing is also underway at the main house and guest wing.
23 November 2022 - The guest wing is having sheathing installed.
23 November 2022 - The front porch slab has been poured. The surface concrete will be washed off soon to expose the shells.
23 November 2022 - The walkway between the main house and guest wing is also poured.
23 November 2022 - The guest house porch is also tabby with a brick border.
23 November 2022 - These are the shells embedded in the slabs. Once the concrete sets a little, the surface concrete will be washed off leaving shells showing.
29 November 2022 - Guest house framing is going well.
29 November 2022 - This is the guest house porch. Each bedroom will have a sliding door to the porch.
29 November 2022 - The framers are making good progress.
29 November 2022 - This opening is where the front door will be installed.
