July 18 - The kitchen island will be built on this half wall. It will have a large sink and seating area.
July 23 - The steel doors (all 5,000 pounds of them) arrived today. Not everything on the trailer is for here - about half of it is. Our trim carpenter was here with his forklift to unload the doors. It took about 4 hours.
July 23 - This is the smallest of the door assembles (with the doors not installed). It weighs about 200 pounds. This is the door from the great room to the outdoor kitchen.
July 23 - We unloaded in the road, but had a problem because the trees are so low. Once we got this door assembly stored, we decided to back the trailer into the yard.
July 23 - The forklift lifted this 600 pound assembly using some nylon straps to insure the doors did not get damaged.
July 23 - Monday morning, the painters were doing the final prep on the Garage. By afternoon, it had been primed. (See photo g).
July 23 - The Guest House has been primed and now the trim is being sprayed.
July 23 - By afternoon, the garage has been primed. This is primer and not the final color.

July 23 - There is a large pile of duct fittings in one bedroom and a big pile of ducting in another bedroom.
July 23 - The electrician is pulling wire to the location of the breaker boxes (the back of the pantry in the back kitchen).
July 23 - We cut a hole in the floor where the brick wing walls go on either side of the range. Once we have piers built for the wing walls, we will cover the center. We build a temporary railing around the opening so no one falls.
July 24 - The metal workers are forming the standing seam panels and stacking them in the garage. The roofers are scheduled to begin tomorrow.
July 24 - The metal for the roof comes on large rolls. It goes through this machine and the panel comes out the back. It is pretty clever. The machine even cuts the panels to the correct length.
July 24 - Plumbing rough in is continuing. This is the right vanity rough in plumbing in the master bath.
July 24 - This is one of the air handlers. It will be lifted up through a scuttle and mounted in the attic.

July 25 - A pallet of trim for the main house is on site and will be installed in the next few days (depending on the weather).
July 30 - We are building a temporary drive to the rear of the house so we can bring a forklift back here and install the large steel doors. The back yard is low and wet.
July 30 - We have been having rain almost daily for several weeks. The ground is saturated with water and very muddy. The gravel will make it possible to get behind the house without getting equipment stuck.
