BI Project 104: September 2012 Prev: Aug 2012 back Next: Oct 2012 September 6 - Here is one of the louvers over the garage doors. (The bottom louver is out until we install the copper flashing.) Since these are on the south side, they should help block heat from the sun (as opposed to windows).September 6 - The fixed casement windows along the back of the garage are installed and have been inspected.September 6 - The west side windows are also installed.September 7 - The framing is complete. Nailing and strapping inspection is completed. House wrap is installed.September 7 - This is the view looking south west. The guest house is on the left.September 10 - Posts along the covered walkway are in place. Beam work is started. The covered walkway framing should be complete in the next few days.September 11 - The columns and outer beams are in place. Cross beams will be installed in the next day or two.September 11 - The beams require a lot of special cuts and notching. It looks good.September 11 - Notches and brackets where cross beams will be installed are visible.September 19 - The trellis on the front of the garage is being assembled. It should be completed tomorrow.September 21 - The lattice in front of the garage is nearly complete. The beam work should be completed today also.September 21 - Once the last of the lattice is installed (probably today), the framing will essentially be complete. Copper flashing has arrived and is waiting for exterior trim to begin.September 21 - The garage framing was completed today. The pergola over the garage doors is complete. Soon, exterior trim work will begin on exterior trim.
