February 1 - House wrap is being installed on the guest house. Notice the openings cut where the windows will be installed. This helps the air escape from the house when the wind is blowing.
February 1 - Framing is continuing. The wall in the center of the photo is the hallway with four large windows. Door E01 will be installed on the left end. The plywood has not been cut out of the opening yet.
February 1 - The garage house wrap is in place. As soon as the windows arrive, they can be installed.
February 1 - The first row of plywood wall sheathing is being installed. Notice the diagonal bracing that holds the walls straight and plumb until the framing is complete.
February 2 - The walls are being erected as far as the sub floor will allow. The area on the right does not have sub flooring yet. It is due today (probably late).
February 2 - The sleepers have been glued and nailed to the concrete floor using galvanized nails suitable for treated lumber. The sleepers will be covered with heavy plastic (6 mil) and then plywood.
February 2 - This is the north end of the rear of the house. Clearly, the sub floor is not down yet.

February 5 - The permanent steel support post is in place. The top is bolted to the beam. The bottom is not bolted to the concrete yet. It is primed and will be painted when the garage is painted.
February 6 - These concrete lintels will be used to support the steel decking for the porches. The 'U' will have steel in it and be filled with concrete.

February 6 - This is another view of the support post. The two temporary wooden 'stiff legs' will be removed soon. The concrete floor is thicker under the post to support the point load.
February 6 - This photo is taken from the south end of the home (near the garage). The far north bedrooms are being framed. The guest house is also visible.
February 6 - The diagonal lumber is bracing to make sure everything is straight and plumb. Once the plywood sheathing, ceiling and roof framing is in place the bracing will not be needed.
February 6 - This is the great room of the main house. The outdoor kitchen will be in the opening on the left part of the photo. There will be a fireplace on the wall separating the outdoor kitchen and the great room.
February 6 - The last exterior walls are going up. Notice how wet the ground is. Once the house is complete and landscaping is done excess water will not collect around the house.
February 6 - The north service yard will be built where the block wall is. The void will be filled and a slab will be poured on it. This service yard is primarily for HVAC condensing units.

February 12 - The great room is about 36 feet long. The entry is to the left and the back patio area is to the right.
February 12 - This is the view from the great room to the lake. The rectangular concrete block box in the center is for a planter. Stairs will be on either side of it. The large opening (1 of 3) will contain a large steel door assembly (double doors, side lights and transoms).

February 26 - At 1 pm, the rain began. The framers have scaffolds built to install the great room ridge. The actual ridge of the great room is about five feet higher than the walkway. It is about 34 feet above the floor.
