Keller Residence: June 2007

June 4 - The remains of Tropical Storm Barry came our way over the weekend. This limb was rotten and fell. Everything else at the construction site was fine.

June 4 - The front of the garage now has exterior trim. The rear is getting trim as this photo was taken. Roofing should begin today.

June 5 - The front of the garage is getting the last of its exterior trim. The soffits are finished on the front of the garage.

June 5 - The rear of the garage is trimmed. The soffits are complete. Roofing starts on the house today. The last remaining exterior trim is being installed.

June 7 - The paint in the lower right corner of the house is the final color of the house. The roof is on the front part of the master bedroom.

June 8 - These are the finished colors for siding and trim. The house will be painted when the owner approves the colors.

June 13 - One section of the wall was painted so the contrast between the siding and trim colors could be checked. The decision was to go slightly darker on the shingles.

June 14 - The breezeway is getting shingles. By the middle of next week, the roofing should be complete.

June 14 - The soffits have been installed on the back of the house. Shingles are visible on the eave of the roof. They are being installed on the roof at this time.

June 15 - The close roof is over the public porch. The further one is the breezeway to the garage. This side of the breezeway roof is finished. Today, the entire breezeway will be finished.

June 18 - This is the front of the house taken from the garage kitchen window. Siding and exterior trim should be finished in the next week or two.

June 19 - Structure wiring (Internet, phone and cable) is being installed. Within a few days, insulation will be installed.

June 19 - Bathroom vents have been installed for a few days. Only a day or two remain before the walls are closed.

June 19 - The covered walkway roof is complete. The garage will be roofed in the next couple of days.

June 19 - The evening sun lights up the house. The master bedroom suite on the right is close to the final color.

June 19 - The garage needs siding still. It will be done in the next few days. The garage roof will be finished in the next day or two.

June 19 - The screening plants seem to be growing. This is a view from the road as you approach the house.

June 20 - Finally, the rains came. There is a large puddle in front of the house. When the yard is landscaped water will be diverted to the sides.

June 20 - The private porch, off the master bedroom, gets a PVC bead board ceiling. The beams will also be trimmed soon.

June 22 - This is the private porch. The ceiling is finished. The trim around the deck is finished. The beams are being finished.

June 25 - Roofing has begun on the garage. It is started to the left of the dormers and between the dormers. The garage should be finished this week.

June 27 - The upper Brays room windows have siding around them. In a day or so, the entire back wall will be finished.

June 27 - The northeast part of the house is trimmed and sided. The public porch gable remains. In the next day or so, the ceiling will also be installed in the public porch.

June 27 - The garage roof is being installed. It (and all of the roofing) should be finished this week.

June 28 - Keller's attic is getting spray in open cell foam for insulation. This foam works very well. The attic temperatures will remain cool even during the hot months of summer.

June 28 - This is the control panel of the foam spraying rig. It is housed in a large trailer. The material itself is brought in 55 gallon barrels and prepared on site.

June 28 - Typically, we put sound insulation around bathrooms and laundry rooms. In the Keller residence, that is a lot of walls. With the insulation in place, the house is starting to feel like it has individual rooms.

June 28 - The upstairs hallway has a good bit of insulation on it because of adjoining bathrooms. The Brays room is to the left.
