May 1 - This is a view showing the relationship of the house, covered walkway and garage. The garage still needs an awning over the big doors.
May 1 - The fireplace brick is up to the ceiling on the public porch. In a few days, the hearth and chimneys will be built.

May 1 - A hole is cut for the dog door next to the steps. It is at the foot of the ramp inside the house.
May 2 - This is the closet for the south upstairs bedroom. It is in the attic over the master bed room. The open joists on the left side are over the private porch. It will have a ceiling soon.
May 3 - The garage now has an awning in the front. Compare this to the photo of April 27.
May 7 - Window trim is started.
May 7 - The bathtubs are being carried in the house. They will be installed today if all goes well.
May 8 - The window trim is complete. It will look wider when the trim is painted to match the window color.
May 8 - Bath tubs are installed upstairs. The garage tub will be installed in a day or two.
May 8 - Plumbing has begun. Although the vertical waste water pipes will be cast iron, the vent pipes are being run in PVC. The cast iron will eliminate water noises in both vertical and horizontal runs.
May 9 - The windows are looking good. More exterior trim will be added soon.
May 9 - Cast iron waste water pipes are being installed. Cast iron pipe is very quiet when water flows in it.
May 10 - This is the attic stairwell. Today, it will have a half wall built around it.
May 10 - The masons are working on the north chimney. It is outside the public porch.
May 10 - This is a shot from the south east. The window trim is visible. Trim is not on the doors yet because the patio details are not finalized.
May 11 - Plumbing rough in is nearly finished. Here you can see a shower valve installed and plumbed.
May 11 - The half wall in the attic has been built. Compare this to the photo yesterday. The post reaches from the floor to the ridge beam to make things really solid.
May 11 - The chimney is being extended through the roof of the public porch. If all goes well, it will be finished by the weekend.
May 11 - The chimney is moving upward. Chimneys go slower than other brickwork because it takes time to build scaffolding.
May 11 - This is another view of the chimney clearly showing the public porch. The chimney should be done in just a few days.
May 15 - The house is getting more exterior trim. Window trim was finished a day or two ago.
May 15 - The chimney is getting near the top. Soon, it will be one chimney down and one to go.
May 15 - Can lights have been installed. This shows where the plumbing pipes and air conditioner ducts can be placed.
May 15 - Air conditioners ducts are being placed in the house.
May 15 - PVC bead board is used for soffits and on the rakes. It looks very smooth and nice.
May 15 - This is a detail of the rake and soffit. Both are made of the bead board.
May 15 - The west wall of the master bed room has trim and siding. Neither is painted the final color yet. Within a week or two, the house will be sided and have exterior trim.
May 15 - The private porch has trim on it. The private porch will be screened. Although it is difficult to see in the photo, the brick foundation wall is below the skirt board.
May 15 - The north chimney is nearing the peak. It will be finished soon and work will begin on the south chimney.
May 17 - The north chimney is complete. This is the chimney for the public porch fireplace.

May 18 - More siding is put on the house. This will continue today. Roofing should start on Monday.
May 18 - The chimney really looks nice with the scaffolding down.
May 18 - This is a close up showing a window, corner trim and a bit of soffit material. These are not final colors.
May 18 - Most of the front of the house has siding. The area near the front door must wait until the door is installed. A little needs to be done upstairs.
May 18 - The masons are building scaffold so they can lay the south chimney. In some cases, such as this one, building scaffold is not trivial.
May 18 - Most of the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) rough in is done. It will be finished early this coming week. After that, electrical rough in will be completed.
May 18 - This is one of the new tenants.
May 21 - The roof shingles are being delivered. Flashing will be done in the next day or two and then roofing will start.
May 21 - This is a view of the north end. The porch gable has fascia. Soon this wall will have siding.
May 22 - Shingles have arrived and are placed on the roof. They will be installed in the next day or two. Step flashing (on the left edge of the roof) has been installed so siding can continue.
May 22 - The south chimney is well underway. Chimneys go slower because all of the material has to be lifted up. This chimney will be over 30 feet high when it is complete.
May 23 - The chimney is still being built. It should be finished today or tomorrow.
May 23 - The master bedroom gable end now has siding. The main house gable end (in blue in the upper left corner of the photo) will be done tomorrow.
May 23 - The chimney is nearly at the top. We ran out of mortar so there will be a day or two delay. We are also going to add another section or two to the chimney liner.
May 24 - Electrical work has begun. This house has double breaker boxes. You can see a bundle of wires on the left of the boxes that have already been pulled.
May 24 - The dryer vent has been installed as well as the washer hook up.
May 24 - This is a view from the south east corner of the house showing the chimney progress. The chimney will likely be finished this week. You can also see the north chimney at the far end of the house.
May 25 - The south chimney is nearly finished. It was made a bit taller to better match the north one.
May 25 - The south gable end of the house is nearly completed. Once the little place to the right of the window is done, the south end of the house will have the siding completed.
May 30 - The garage and walkway have fascia and window trim. The porch ceiling is being installed today.
May 30 - The upper Brays room windows have trim as does the awning over the Brays room doors.
May 31 - The soffits are now installed under the front side of the walkway, front awning and front eaves. The front door frame has been installed, so the front siding should be finished today.
May 31 - These are upstairs front windows. Siding and trim is done around them. The soffit above them is finished. Roofing will begin on Monday.
