October 1 - There is now a doorway where there was a window. We have to deal with the wires that went to the electrical outlet below the window.

October 1 - The final window is installed. We put house wrap on the exterior walls. The white hose hanging down in front of the window is for the bathroom vent. The tall stack of materials is cedar shingles. The long plastic covered material in front is the exterior trim material (door casing, corner trim, etc).
October 22 - Willis installed an oak threshold in the doorway to the new bedroom so it will match the living room floor. Floor patch is visible at the top of the threshold. Carpet will but the threshold at the top. The carpet and oak will join under the door as it should.
October 22 - The interior doors (all four of them) are installed and trimmed.

October 22 - The closet shelving is built. The rods are not installed yet, of course. Shelves for the center section are built and leaning up against the door. They will be adjustable. The shelving unit will be painted the trim color unless we hear differently.
October 22 - Across from the shelving unit is a board solidly mounted to the wall. The board is a little less than 10' (it goes wall to wall).
October 22 - The top of the windows and doors were built to match the existing windows and doors in the home. Of course, it will be painted.

October 25 - We started building the soffit, fascia and frieze today. We should be done with them tomorrow (weather permitting) and begin the corner and window trim. These match the trim on the front of the house.

October 26 - Here you can see the corner boards. They match the house. The sills and aprons (the board under the sill) are on all of the windows. We intend to put the side boards on tomorrow and finish the exterior trim. It should be painted before the week is out.
October 28 - The exterior trim is finished. We added a detail above the windows and a continuation of the trim beside the window up across the frieze to make a clear demarcation. The wooden panel on the back wall is where the electrical breaker box and water heater will be mounted.
October 28 - This is a close up of the trim piece we added. Over the window and to and including the vertical piece will be painted green both over the windows and over the corner pieces. The silver tape and blue paper will be covered with shingles once the trim is painted. By waiting to apply the shingles, we don't risk the painter getting paint on them.

October 29 - Willis got the cabinets installed today. He was able to trim the bottoms off them so they now will be about 33 inches above the floor. The toe board was only 5 foot long. We received an end skin and he was able to use that for the rest of the toe board we needed. This is the view from the bedroom. We were not able to use the toe board arch.
October 29 - This is the view from the bathtub. Notice the cabinets have no backs in them, so the wall is visible. We will have the painter paint the wall behind the center section Dover White. You will not see the wall behind the drawer banks unless you remove drawers.
