Ingram Garage: July 2014

July 16 - The forms are now in place on three sides. The left side is quite high due to the slope of the ground and the slope of the concrete in the carport. We will fill around the outside to minimize the height.

July 16 - There is a stump under the front left corner of the garage. It was well hidden under ground until the guys started digging. We will have Brays Island's crew remove it soon.

July 23 - Part of the forming is up. The buried stump has been removed. Three loads of fill dirt have been spread.

July 24 - After a total of five loads of fill, some of the forms have been erected. Plumbing rough in and an 'as built' survey are scheduled for today.

July 25 - The footers are dug and the forms are in place. The hose bib pipe is in place. Steel will be placed on Monday.

July 25 - The footprint is intricate. This is the corner where the kennel is located. The floor is depressed in this area. A second hose bib is located on this wall. It was installed after this photo was taken.

July 28 - The soil is being treated for termites under the slab. We plan to pour the slab on Wednesday.

July 28 - The slab is a bit complex. The carport (on the right) sloped down to the right. The garage floor sloped towards the doors. The wall of the carport is level (you can see the forming between the garage and carport). There is brick trim around the carport and in front of the garage. There is a depressed area on the rear left for the dog kennel.

July 28 - The black pipe is a water supply (with insulation) for the hose bib. The narrow set of forms going towards the top of the photo is where the garage wall will be built. The form running to the left and to the right are where bricks will be laid later this week.

July 30 - This is the first of the concrete for the slab. The forming was a bit complex with the sloping floors and depressed section.

July 30 - About 65 tons of concrete later, the slab is poured. It has not been troweled yet in this photo. The depressed areas are for a brick border. Forms will be pulled off tomorrow. Bricks will be laid Friday. Framing will begin early next week.

July 30, pm - There are about 350 Savannah Gray hand made bricks on site ready to lay on Friday. We will need about 300 of them. The mason brought a few extra ... just in case.

July 30, pm - The short concrete wall is where the garage wall will be built. The floor of the garage slopes towards the doors (lower part of photo). The black pipe is for a hose bib that will be on the carport.
