Miller Residence: April 2018

April 16 - The first floor framing is well along. The second floor trusses are installed. The second floor subfloor is in place and some of the second story walls are erected.

April 16 - The garage siding and exterior trim is being installed. The dark area over the windows is copper flashing.

April 16 - This is the back bedroom over the garage. If you look closely, you will see the plumbing has been roughed in as has electrical and HVAC.

April 17 - More siding is going on the garage. Several of the walls cannot be done yet because the doors are not installed. Main house framing is taking priority. Slack time is spent on garage siding.

April 17 - The columns and beams are being installed on the porches. Once the beams are up, rafters and ceiling joists will be set.

April 17 - This is what will be the great room. It will be the full two stories high. The opening in the wall is where the double fireplace will be erected.

April 18 - Rafters are over the great room. A cat walk has been erected to build the gable over the guest bedroom.

April 18 - Here the rafters over the great room are visible. The porch beam and columns are also visible.

April 18 - This is the golf course side of the house. Note the porch beams on the left (the screened 'L' shaped porch) and the porch off the master bedroom on the right side.

April 18 - More siding has been installed on the north side of the garage. The garage will be foamed tomorrow.

April 19 - Foam was sprayed in all of the exterior walls and the roof. It was also sprayed under the floor of the second story. Presently, the auto bays are not conditioned. The insulation will help moderate the temperature and if they are ever conditioned, it won't be necessary to rip sheet rock off to insulate.
