November 21 - We built a box for the lot dewatering plan. The box will house a pump. Notice the hardware cloth at the bottom. The box (and pump) will be placed in the trench before it is filled with gravel. Water will flow through the gravel, past the hardware cloth and pumped out.
November 21 - There was a lot of brush where the garage is to be built. There were also a couple of undesirable trees close. Those have been cleared out. If you look closely, you will see the surveyor's stakes.
November 21 - The area is now brush free and ready for the foundation sub once the dewatering is complete.
November 21 - The dewatering trench is being dug. It is about 2' wide and 4' deep. The trench will be filled with gravel so any ground water can easily flow to the pump box and be removed.
November 21 - Opps! We hit an unmarked phone line. This caused some delays while phone service was being restored.
November 21 - The pump box is in place. Notice the opening at the bottom. The trench will be filled with gravel (hopefully Wednesday). Ground water that seeps out will flow to the pump box and be discharged to the nearby drainage ditch.
